Mulbarton Allotments and Leisure Gardeners Association
MALGA aims to promote an interest in all things horticultural (including the associated health benefits). Membership is open to all allotment holders, and all leisure gardeners however large or small their garden or window box may be.
In 2018, our activities included social events, such as pub nights, dinners and barbeques (on the allotments and in private gardens), where the conversation occasionally reverted to recent gardens problems, pests and diseases. We also had an allotment open day open to all visitors to demonstrate the joys and benefits of gardening, and a plant sale at the Mulbarton Beer Festival.
In addition we organised: talks by outside specialists; a Mulbarton Gardeners’ Question Time; and prepared a 2019 calendar featuring photographs taken by our Members. In 2019 we plan similar events with the addition of a group visit to public gardens in the area, and a Mulbarton Open Gardens in friendly rivalry with East Carleton.
If you would like to join, membership is presently a meagre £3 annually (yes annually, less than the cost of a pint of beer) and this includes your national membership too.
Your membership card gets you discounts at many outlets. (Gosh, if only all life’s decisions were as easy as this one.)
